When Will I Be Free?

“When Will I Be Free?” (2023) is a 12” x 15” drawing completed in graphite pencils. It utilizes birds as symbols of freedom and the ribs of the skeleton as a representation of a cage. An image of myself is trapped in this ribbed cage with a look intended to capture the envy and idolization felt towards the birds as I yearn for freedom.
