Severed Attachment

Severed Attachment was my first venture into surrealism. With this piece, I wanted to emphasize the contrast between various concepts. Some of which I included was the juxtaposition between young and old, life and death, and light and dark. The whole scene, symbolizing humanity, is being watched over by an all-seeing eye, which can be left to interpretation.

This work won a Scholastic Gold Key Award for the Eastern Carolina Region.
